Artificial intelligence has many definitions, but is broadly about computers that do things which, if performed by a human, would be considered intelligent. Proponents of strong AI believe that it will ultimately be possible to create machine intelligence that is equivalent in all sense to a human; whereas others take a weak AI approach that is happy to see inspiration from human intelligence realised in machines. A more pragmatic approach simply looks for algorithms and techniques that can be used in practical applications.
